Healthy diet means not only eating healthy food, but also avoiding certain foods. For instance, caffeine does not affect the body well if you are struggling with anxiety or panic disorder. Try to drink teas as home remedies for panic attacks. Chamomile tea or lemon balm tea will be better than coffee. Many patients who suffer from panic disorder say that coffee has been affecting them negatively. Also, it is good to reduce meat and dairy products as well. Instead of drinking milk, try to take almond milk or rice milk.
Avoid taking sweets because sugar is not very good for your health. Replace the sugar with honey. Instead of eating animal fat, include more olive oil and nuts in your diet. Clay slipped a bag of potato chips into the shopping cart.
“Caught you!” Dara announced as she added boxes of cookies and crackers.
She grabbed the potato chip bag. “There are loaded with fat. Mom trusts us to pick out good stuff to eat. That includes snacks.” Dara and Clay did the family grocery shopping every other week.
Clay pointed to the bag. “The big yellow letters on the front say ‘Fat-Free,’ They’re baked, not deep-fried, and have no fat.”

You go to the supermarket and pick out a can of tuna. Any brand. What difference could it make? Well, a lot actually. Some companies catch tuna in ways that may harm dolphins. If you refuse to buy tuna from a company that uses fishing practices harmful to dolphins, you send a message that you’re interested in protecting the environment. If enough people send that message, they can effect change. And in the case of tuna, people did. On April 12,1990, H.J. Heinz, the world’s largest producer of canned tuna, agreed not to purchase any tuna caught by methods that harm dolphin.
As a consumer you have the power to help the environment. Because you live in the environment, it affects the state of your health. So preserving a healthy environment is in your own self-interest.
Unfortunately, no labels proclaim a product or service environmentally unfriendly. So you have to educate yourself as to what’s harmful and why. The following will start you on the road to making healthy choices.
