Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Words fail me
Let me put it this way: "OH MY GOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

Ahem. You'll have to excuse me, but I really don't know how else to explain it. This music is- Oh my God. It's...words fail me. I mean, I'm a pretty experienced garage rock collector, but I had no idea that music this raw, this powerful, this absolutely brutal, existed. For a fan of obscure sixties snarl, this is the Holy freaking Grail. It's like... Oh my God. Oh my God.

The songs. Listen to these songs. Listen to the ... Read More

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Some of 60s Garage Rock Finest
No matter how often I play the Chessmen's I Need You There it never gets old! It's my favorite track on a very very good album. Buy it!

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Just buy the CD
I'll have to agree with my fellow reviewers. This is classic. Just about everything on here is better than anything you'll find on Nuggets. This is simply the best 60s garage punk I've ever heard anywhere.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Killer Garage Melt-down!
Yeeaah cats! Holy gee-whiz this comp. rocks! This LP kicks off with the mighty roar of Paul Bearer and the Hearsemen's " I've Been Thinking " and don't stop rockin' till the end. This is the real deal baby! You can replace all the lame Nuggets comps with this scorchin' platter. Real, gritty and honest teen screech from the pre-hippie mid- sixties. The world would be a better place if kids in the sixties had listened to this stuff instead of junk like The Doors and The Beatles!

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - A Garage Punk Litmus Test
Okay see, here's what you do. Buy this disc and give it a listen. If you don't like it, you'll never have to worry about buying a garage disc again. That's becuase this is the greatest garage punk compilation of all time. If you don't like it, garage rock ain't your bag, period! Hell, the first two songs alone are well worth the purchase price. This folks is the real classic rock. Hypothetically speaking, what would our world be like if tunes like "From Zero Down" were getting spins on the local ... Read More
