Been into giant sand since 1989..Long Stem Rant...Ramp...Sage Advice by Blacky Ranchette...0P8 Slush,these albums are howe gelbs finest moments... diamonds in the goldmine of americana...like cash,cohen,waits..etc..gelb is the real deal...like beefheart he does what he wants...the almost but not quite cut it releases dont matter cause the really good ones keep raising the bar...this album is another diamond...genius...truly...deserved by fans..hell yeah...even more so for howe himself...for his home ...

Though a fan of the bands Friends of Dean Martinez and Calexico, I'm a newbie to the sandmen, strangely, and after discovering 'Chore of Enchantment' I had to hear more. I'm not sure where to start with Giant Sand, other than 'Chore', as Howe Gelb has proven an acquired but quite worthwhile taste.
