I stumbled onto this artist after listening to Anouar Brahem. I really love the sound of the oud and was looking for other players. I now have all of Dafer Youssef's recordings. Dhafer Youssef is clearly interested in pushing music in directions not taken before... His music often requires me several listens before i can get into it deeply... It's so concis and technical but in the sametime so lyric and poetic...i can't really describe..just listen to it..it's amazing!
And, start by "DIVINE SHADOWS", this Youssef's last CD is nothing but a big Success!
