White girl fusing breezy cool jazz with sultry dollops of R&B lite while never straying far from the centerline may not be the most promising blueprint for an album. But damned if Janita doesn't pull it off with surprising grace here, often reminding us that it's the singer, not the formula, in the bargain. But then her perspective may be the key: Janita was an unlikely contemporary soul pioneer as a teen in her native Finland, bringing a steadfast commitment to classy style with her as she transformed herself into NYC-based journeywoman chanteuse. The album may begin by slyly evoking the spirit of Gilberto on the opener "No Words," but by the time it wends its way through the string-drenched elegance of "That's How Life Goes" and the spare, jazzy "I Only Want You," comparisons to Dianna Krall and Norah Jones seem not so far afield. There may be one too many bowings to slick MOR along the way, but the pop charms of "Too Late" and the title track are undeniable. --Jerry McCulley

This combination of a soulful words with a jazzy sound makes the lyrics to each song shine. Her voice has blown me away. She has a made an album which no song needs to be skipped. She has properly named the album because each song pertains to what we all deal with in life and relationships. It's a great buy!

Anyone who has not listened to this c.d is missing out big time!I must Amazon credit when credit is due.They listed Janita's Season of life as a must listen to disc.And I must say I wasn't disappointed at all!!I just hope she comes out and makes a new c.d soon

I knew her by listening to my favourite radio, the hit single was " I Miss You". So I was wondering how could be the entire album.....The result was great! I mean great voice, great feeling, just the type of music that makes you relax and feel good. In My opinion the coolest tracks in this album are : " I Miss You"; " No Words"; " Bear With Me"; the cover "Enjoy The Silence" By Depeche Mode just sounds good!

Rating: - Absolutely Superb!!
This is by far one of the best CD's I've purchased in the last 10 years or so. From beginning to end, she has a wonderful voice and the smooth music to create a CD that you don't have to skip through AT ALL. My personal favorite tracks are No Words, I Only Want You and Let Me Love You. She's even made a cover for Depeche Mode's "Enjoy the Silence" seem magical. I've bought this CD at least 5 times (four of them were gifts to friends and family) and she needs to get more air time. Support Janita ... Read More
