I was tempted to give this recording 5 stars; but, to be honest there are probably a couple of 3 or 4 star tracks on it.
I first heard these guys at CalProg 2005 in Whittier, CA this month. Their connection to prog music (as a band) is really nonexistent and their invitation to perform at a prog festival could have been a giant miscalculation had it not been for the fact that they were so good. In the end, if the music's good, it doesn't matter what genre it falls into.

Spiraling's founder, Tom Brislin, is also (at minimum) the singer/songwriter/keyboardist of the group. This fellow toured with YES as their keyboardist during their Symphonic tour a few years ago. And he was amazing.
His songs here are incredibly addictive, with lyrics that are very thought provoking.
