Talib Kweli Concert, Sydney, Australia. 2007/10/13 18:26 Karma: 2

Hello PV people,

I thought I would drop by say hi and share my night (12OCT), live and intimate with Talib Kweli.

I should mention first that the support act was Scribe - He is a talented New Zealand hip hop artist who is definitely worth a listen. Check out his myspace at http://www.myspace.com/scribedirtyrecords
He has been around for a few years now and his second album rhymebook is gaining cred.

Zeph and Azeem were pretty good as well. They have a myspace as well. I believe they are from San Francisco.

Back to Kweli... There it was his name in lights... Ahh heaven am I here. For awhile I thought the concert would be cancelled cuz it didn't sell out, but thankgoodness the night was still just as good.

A great mature mix of people. Everyone was relaxed dressed just right and with the right mood.

He not only did Eardrum but others as well. Blackstar, Liberation, The beautiful struggle and a suprise Kanye West - Get em' high which of course he collaborated on.

About an hour went by and he said goodbye. But the crowd just didn't take it. We were chanting 'kweli, kweli, kweli, kweli, kweli, kweli and then out he came for another 20mins... ahh finally an artist who will do an encore....and a decent one at that.

While I am still buzzing from such a great night, I am waiting in anticipation for when he returns doing what he does best.

Love and Respect
Katie

Katie!

Glad you dug the show! I bet when he did "Hot Thang" the crowd went crazy! Got any pics?

To be honest I really wasn't a huge fan of Kweli... don't know what it was, but this latest album "Eardrum" changed my mind quick. Production was on point, lyrics, delivery, everything... Gotta be the dopest hip hop album this year IMO

Oh that Scribe kid is nice too...Good look!

Peace,

Elliott
